Meet the Team

Dr. Elie Henry, Secretary, IAD

Background: Dr. Henry has over 31 years of denominational service in Inter-America. He holds a Th.D in Theology and a Master's degree in Theology from The University of Strasbourg, France.

A native of Haiti, Dr. Henry's career began as a District Pastor in Haiti, then as Union President. He has also served as the Human Resources Director of the IAD. Dr. Elie Henry has served as one of three Vice Presidents in the Inter-American Division since the year 2000.

Dr. Henry is happily married to Ketlie Henry and has three daughters.

  • Responsible for carrying forward the work according to plans and programs voted by the General Conference Session, and according to plans and policies agreed upon by the Division Executive Committee.



Pastor Pedro Iglesias, Associate Secretary

Background: Pastor Pedro Iglesias holds a technology Diploma in Business
Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Theology and a Masters degree in Family Relations.
Pastor Iglesias began his ministry as a Church Pastor in Colombia. He later served as
Conference and Union Departmental Director and finally Union Secretary before being
called to the Inter-American Division in 2010 to serve as Family Life Ministries Director.
Pastor Iglesias is also currently serving as an Associate Secretary of the IAD. Pastor
Pedro Iglesias is married to Cecilia Moreno, Director for Women’s Ministries at the
IAD. This union produced two children: Jessie, a Medical Doctor and Pedro, a Systems

Mrs. Janelle Scantlebury-Smith, Assistant Secretary

Background: Mrs. Janelle Scantlebury-Smith entered denominational service at the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad, where she served as Development Officer, Assistant Director for International Student Services, and Assistant Director for Recruitment and Enrollment Management. In October 2011, Mrs. Smith responded to a call from God to serve at the Inter-American Division as Assistant Secretary, where she continues to give wholehearted service. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Mrs. Smith holds a Master’s Degree in International Studies with a specialization in International Organizations and International Cooperation for development from the University of Barcelona, Spain. She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. Mrs. Smith is married to Mr. Daniel Smith and this union has produced a beautiful daughter.Mrs. Smith is conversant with all three (3) languages of Division.

Hobbies/Interests: Touching lives for Christ, travelling, Spending time in nature.



Mrs. Elizabeth Rodríguez, Administrative Assistant to Dr. Elie Henry

Background: Elizabeth Rodríguez began demoninational service after completing her undergraduate studies at the University of Antioquia, Medellin, Colombia. In 1995, she obtained a Masters degree in Family Relations from the University of Montemorelos. Mrs. Rodríguez is married to Pastor Bernardo Rodríguez and this union produced two sons: Freddy Eduardo and Samuel. Mrs. Rodríguez was further blessed with two grandsons Eduardo and Alejandro.

Mrs. Leticia Leito: Administrative Assistant to Associate Secretary and Family Life Ministries Director, Health Ministries Director, Women's Ministries Director

Background: Mrs. Leticia Leito entered denominational service at the Central American Adventist University (UNADECA) in Costa Rica where she served as Administrative Assistant in the School of Education.  Mrs. Leito has an equivalent to an Associates’ Degree in Office Administration.  She is married to Mr. Deutly Leito and has three children, Ebony, Xyomara and Israel.
